Queensland is famous for thrilling visitors with exhilarating rides and attractions at its theme parks.
But just when you thought your heart couldn't beat any faster, our theme park offering is about to go next-level with the latest rollercoasters and rides that will leave you reeling.
Launching on December 15 is Steel Taipan, a German-engineered beast of a reptilian rollercoaster that snakes around 1.2 kms of twists, turns and launches, up to a top speed of 105 kmph and a G-force of 3.8. With four inversions, the Southern Hemisphere's first triple launch system and a world-first "Tailwhip" (a spinning gondola at the back of the train), Dreamworld's new ride is based on the world's number-one model, the award-winning Blue Fire Launch Coaster in Germany.

Now open at Sea World's new Atlantis precinct, The Vortex draws you in with an irresistible force to twist, turn and spin, spiralling 18 metres above sea level.
Easter 2022 will see the precinct's next phase "The New Atlantis", featuring the brand-new Trident that will lift and spin you 52 metres in the air; and The Leviathan, a thunderous new family rollercoaster full of dips, turns and drops.
The tallest water park slide tower in Australia is coming soon to Wet'n'Wild. From December 10, get ready to conquer the Double Barrel, Super Ripper and KABOOM! for a heart-racing rush, or relax in the tropical H2Oasis splash zone to soak up those summer vibes.
Earlier this year, Sunshine Coast theme park Aussie World unveiled the SX360, Australia's tallest and fastest 360-degree pendulum swing ride (and the region's first-ever tier 1 thrill ride). Read more about it here.
