Adventurous? Pull on your hiking boots and meander the network of bushwalking tracks that stretch across the state’s many national parks. Walk the ancient Wet Tropics, and under the luscious canopy of the Daintree Rainforest, keeping an eye out for resident cassowary. Cool off with a dip at one of our famous sandy beaches, strung across 6,000 kilometres of coastline.
Sail across the rainbow-hued Great Barrier Reef, or dive its depths, greeting the bounty of resident marine life. Or get better acquainted with the locals back on land, cuddling koalas and kangaroos, and watching turtles hatch off the top tip.
Cultural cravings will be satisfied in the capital - peruse the gathering of Brisbane’s galleries, or taste your way around town, visiting the city’s growing collection of restaurants and cafes. Receive a history lesson up north, where Indigenous events mingle with significant sites aplenty.
