Every one of Queensland’s iconic landmarks, whether natural or constructed, has a rich history. No matter if you’re wandering our ancient rainforests or passing through a country town, there are hundreds of stories to hear.  

For those rainy days when the sunshine takes a break (sometimes it happens), you’re invited to take a beat at a museum or gallery. Spend an afternoon skating on the cutting edge of modern art at QAGOMA, or learning local stories at a museum. From international exhibitions at the Queensland Museum to touring each rural town's time capsules, every moment is remembered.

Ours has a rich history dating back before the dinosaurs and is revealed both in natural landmarks and the urban sprawl. Follow the trails up and down the state and you’ll soon find yourself exploring the origins of the real Outback, and the stories that built our rural townships. Or travel further north to Tropical North Queensland to hear tales from before the reef was born.
