Lake Cania is situated north of the Cania Gorge National Park about 11 kilometres from the Cania Gorge Picnic Area. The lake sits on the banks of Three Moon Creek which is a tributary of the Burnett River. The lake has a capacity of 88,500 megalitres and is constructed from earth and rockfill that reach over 44 metres above the level of the dam. There are numerous facilities available at the dam from great fishing and other water sports with boat ramp access, picnic areas, Public conveniences, kiosk and two camping and caravan parks.
Fish from the shore or a boat. Lake Cania is noted for saratoga catches. Other species include bass, golden perch, silver perch, eel -tailed catfish, spangled perch, eel and snub-nosed garfish.
