The glorious colonial architecture of the Customs House and Residence, honours the once significant influence of Her Majesty’s Customs Service on the city of Maryborough.
In the early 1900s Maryborough was the largest industrial town in the State, manufacturing steam engines, railway rolling stock, sugar mill crushing equipment and ships for the Royal Australian Navy.
