Whitsunday Airport is situated in Flametree on the Whitsunday Coast, located halfway between Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour.

As the hub for most sightseeing and adventure services, the airport also operates as a private commercial airfield and residential estate. The services available at Whitsunday Airport include charter flights to and from various islands and other destinations by arrangement, skydiving, helicopter joy flights and lessons, as well as scenic seaplane adventures to the Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach.
