Five Family Friendly Beaches In One Day

Starting off at the quiet beachside village of Woodgate, the family will enjoy the unspoilt coastline. You may even get to see a kangaroo or two hopping along the side of the road. Be sure to drive slowly. Then head north to Elliott Heads, make sure you take your mask and snorkel as you might see some coral or other marine life.

After enjoying Elliott Heads make your way to Bargara Beach. Bargara is the most well-known of Bundaberg's beachside suburbs. You will find plenty of take-away options, cafes, restaurants as well as playgrounds and safe areas to swim. Enjoy a walk along the walkway taking in the beautiful blue Coral Sea.

Situated only six kilometres from Bargara, Mon Repos is the largest turtle rookery in the South Pacific. Mon Repos features also include Woongarra rainforest scrub remnants, mangroves, the site of Bert Hinkler's first glider flights, a tidal lagoon, rock pools and an historic basalt stone wall built by South Sea Islanders who were brought to Queensland from the 1880s to work in the sugar industry.

Mon Repos Conservation Park is a national park with a fantastic turtle rookery. Mon Repos beach is 1.8 kilometres in length. There are some access restrictions to the beach during turtle season.

After enjoying the serenity at Mon Repos it is on to the last stop of the day - Burnett Heads!
