Brisbane’s favourite family, the Heelers, have inspired kids and parents alike to make the most of family life.

From the bustling streets of Brisbane to the tranquil beaches of the Sunshine Coast and glistening skyline of the Gold Coast, discover the real-life backdrops of your favourite Bluey moments and create your own unforgettable memories in Queensland.

BRISBANE

South Bank

Season 2, Episode 47 (Ice Cream) | South Bank, Brisbane

Brisbane’s South Bank is the perfect spot to cool down with an ice cream, just like in the Bluey episode Ice Cream. Picking only one flavour can be trifficult when they all look so delicious!

Season 2, Episode 47 (Ice Cream) | South Bank, Brisbane

Whether you’re a local on a day trip or you're visiting from afar, South Bank is home to Brisbane’s vibrant cultural scene and is a family favourite for a quick swim near the city or a full-day adventure following the bougainvillea-lined path.

Season 2, Episode 47 (Ice Cream) | Queensland Museum, Brisbane

While you're here, jump onto the City Cat or the Brisbane Wheel for a birds-eye view of the River City or head to the Queensland Museum for dinosaur facts and science fun. After all that, you’ll be ready to hit the playground and cool off at Streets Beach or splash about in the Aquativity interactive water play for the younger ones.

Brisbane City

Season 2, Episode 1 (Dance Mode) | Queen Street Mall, Brisbane

Be sure to also head to Queen Street Mall, a unique open-air shopping centre in the heart of Brisbane City with more than 500 stores to explore. Here you can get your Dance Mode on with some serious moves!

New Farm

Season 1, Episode 12 (Spy Game) | New Farm Park, Brisbane

New Farm Park is one of Brisbane’s most coveted picnic locations and has a fort-like playground that’s perfect for hide-and-seek or a game of Spy Game or Shadowlands. You can enjoy green leafy spaces on the edge of the river, jacarandas in bloom (around October), a charming red-roofed rotunda and BBQ spots along the water.

Mount Coot-tha Lookout

Season 3, Episode 49 (The Sign) | Mount Coot-tha Lookout, Brisbane

All signs lead to Brisbane’s Mount Coot-tha Summit Lookout - the highest point in Brisbane with panoramic views of the city and Moreton Bay. Don't forget your lucky coin to use the viewing telescopes.

Wynnum

Season 3, Episode 14 (Pass the Parcel)

In Wynnum, there’s plenty of fun to be had between the beach, walking paths, playgrounds and waterparks for the little ones, and of course, the wading pool with a slide.

Whether you’re looking for a free outdoor party venue with a good spot to play Pass the Parcel (we like Lucky’s Dad’s rules!) or a beach within easy reach, Wynnum ticks many of these boxes and is a great location for family time

Playgrounds

Season 2, Episode 28 (Seesaw)

When a show is centred so much around family fun, it’s bound to showcase a playground or two. Discover Queensland’s joyous playgrounds and you might just notice a green frog slide, or a colourful playground sheltered by shade sails like in the episode Seesaw

Ready to run and jump? Some of Brisbane’s best playgrounds worth adding to your list include Orleigh Park in West End, Hawthorne Park near Bulimba and Wittonga Park in The Gap.

HOLIDAYS AROUND QUEENSLAND

Bluey and Bingo love to play games and go on adventures with their family and friends.

Take a look at some of the locations outside of Brisbane where the Heelers might enjoy a holiday.

Gold Coast

Season 2, Episode 11 (Charades) | The Langham Gold Coast

The Gold Coast offers a classic beach holiday destination, with a variety of beautiful beaches, eateries, resorts, national parks, and theme parks to plan your itinerary around.

There's no end to the beautiful stretches of surf and sand in this perfect paradise. In fact, you might just become jealous of Nana Heeler's beachfront apartment once you're here.

Sunshine Coast

Season 1, Episode 26 (The Beach) | Coolum Beach, Sunshine Coast

Along Queensland’s coast, there’s always a kid-friendly beach ready to welcome your crew – and the Sunshine Coast offers plenty. Whether you want to swim from the sun-up, craft sandcastles and kingdoms, morph into mermaids, meet curious ocean creatures, or take on the calming sound of the waves on a stroll along the shore, you’ll never be short of a spot to lay your towel.

Season 2, Episode 18 (Piggyback)

Don’t miss the opportunity to visit Noosaville Foreshore,  a popular landmark on the Sunshine Coast where you might even spot a Big Pelican like in the episode Piggyback.

Behind the golden beaches of the Sunshine Coast are the Glasshouse Mountains, an awe-inspiring collection of 11 ranges, perfect for hiking, wandering along, and gazing at.

Mount Barney, Scenic Rim, Brisbane

Season 1, Episode 43 (Camping) | Mount Barney Lodge, Scenic Rim, Brisbane

It's time to swap high rises for rugged mountains to reconnect with your family in nature, just like in the Camping episode. Out in the Scenic Rim, Mount Barney National Park, part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Queensland, offers plenty of creeks, lush forests, and impressive mountain views.

Road trips to the country

Season 2, Episode 46 (Road Trip)

Road trips to visit family in the country require two things: a good playlist and car games that everyone can play.

Keep an eye out for interesting big things around Queensland while you’re exploring on four wheels, such as the Big Peanut in Kingaroy.

Mission Beach, Cairns & Great Barrier Reef

Season 3, Episode 26 (Fairytale) | Mission Beach, Cairns & Great Barrier Reef

For fans of Bandit’s nostalgic take from the 80s in Fairytale,  summer holidays are still best spent exploring the coastline on two wheels - cruising along sun-drenched streets, with salty air in your hair and stopping whenever the beach beckons.

Mission Beach is a hidden gem of the tropics, made up of four coastal villages, all linked by 14 glorious kilometres of golden beach.
