Spring Hill is one of the oldest residential neighbourhoods in Brisbane, with many houses dating back to the nineteenth century. Along the streets, you will find quaint workers' cottages and terrace houses, along with beautifully restored heritage-listed buildings. There are many fine award-winning eateries in the area, as well as cute coffee shops, historic pubs and colourful nightspots.
Perched on the cusp of the Brisbane city centre, Spring Hill is within easy walking distance to the best of what Brisbane has to offer.
To the west side are the beautiful Roma Street Parklands, where visitors can feed the ducks and take the boardwalk high above a forest canopy. To the south is the bustling city heart, and to the east is funky Fortitude Valley, a colourful hub of live music, hip nightspots, trendy cafes, art galleries and Brisbane's Chinatown.
Overlooking the city centre, The Windmill in Wickham Park was built by convicts in 1827 and was one of Queensland's first stone buildings. Of equal historical significance are the Spring Hill Baths, built in 1886. Surrounded by a ring of quaint individual dressing rooms, the baths are still in operation today.
