Caloundra

Welcome to
Caloundra

Cruise into the coast

It’s on the cusp of the southern end of the Sunshine Coast that Caloundra resides.

With grassy stretches, sandy beaches, and surf spots aplenty, it’s no wonder that Caloundra has become a firm favourite for Queensland families in particular. Although with activities galore for all ages, the adventurous will find no better place to holiday.

Things to do in Caloundra

To chat face-to-face to a local about all the best things to see and do in Caloundra, step into a Visitor Information Centre

There’s plenty to do here with kids big and small - entertain the brood with a day spent at the nearby Australia ZooAussie World or the Big Kart Track. Or spend time in the great outdoors - Kings Beach boasts both a playground and public barbecues for feasting post-swim. Slightly further afield, aquatic playground Currimundi Lake offers an array of water sports to enjoy.

Adults also remain well-catered to, we promise. Work up a sweat meandering the scenic Caloundra Coastal Walk, which stretches 25 kilometres from Golden Beach to Mooloolaba further north. Or explore the region by boat; glide your way along the idyllic Pumicestone Passage, or join the fleet of yachts that favour Point Cartwright. Fishing boats are just as welcome in these parts - conveniently you’ll find an array of boat ramp facilities for launching scattered throughout.

Surfers will feel right at home, thanks to the regular swell. After working up a thirst at the beach, visitors to Caloundra can join the locals at one of the many excellent craft beer breweries emerging in the area.
