Boat fanatics will know all too well that the waters here are also welcoming of yachts if a sail appeals - after all this is the home of the annual Hamilton Island Race Week

Or take it easy instead, hiring one of the iconic golf buggies and meandering your way around Hamilton Island’s stretch. But don’t forget to stop to take in the sunset and panoramic views at One Tree Hill Lookout. 
 
It’s not just Hamilton Island itself that’s worth a wander. Conveniently central in location, the idyllic isle acts as a gateway to a multitude of the region’s favourite landmarks, and is home to a commercial airport. Take a chopper out to Heart Reef, or grab a boat and spend the day at the iconic Whitehaven Beach and Hill Inlet nearby.
