It’s here you can embrace a holiday without the hassle, parking your home on wheels in a space rich in amenities, and often views to boot. Below you’ll find a collection of the 14 best caravan parks on the Sunshine Coast, from the beachfront of family-friendly Coolum to the idyllic serenity of Lake Somerset in the hinterland.

Quaint Dicky Beach in Caloundra is not only home to a gathering of picture-perfect original surf shacks, but a particularly family-friendly caravan park. The Dicky Beach Family Holiday Park tempts families with kids by their droves, thanks to its easy access to Kings Beach, Bulcock Beach and Golden Beach (as well as Dicky) and array of activities on offer, swimming pool, tennis court and children’s playground included.
Perched on the edge of the famed Pumicestone Passage is the Big4 Caloundra holiday park. This is the kind of place to come if you like accommodation variety, with everything from luxury cabins to campsites on offer. Another favourite for families, this park produces a kids holiday program annually with adventures that range from movie nights to dance classes, as well as a coffee van and pizza truck onsite.
You’ll find serenity in spades at Golden Beach Holiday Park, a fellow Pumicestone Passage resident. Tucked into landscaped gardens, this holiday venue offers a swimming pool, camp kitchen, and barbecues to its guests, who can choose to stay in their own ‘big rig’ or enjoy one of the self-contained units on site.

One of the best caravan parks on the Sunshine Coast is found in Coolum. Spread across 10 acres of beachfront, by one of the region’s best surf breaks, is this much loved holiday escape. Popular with families thanks to its array of site offerings, from tents to powered caravans, Coolum Beach Holiday Park is also within an easy stroll to Coolum’s main drag and its bounty of cafes and restaurants.
Or get off the beaten track with a foray to local favourite the Noosa North Shore Beach Campground, on the pristine Cooloola Coast. 40 powered sites and 45 unpowered sites reside here, with the space particularly popular for fishermen. 4WD fans are also regulars, with access to the beach 4WD tracks (which lead to Fraser Island) located less than a kilometre north of the park entrance.
Or keep closer to bustling Hastings Street with a stay at Big4 Ingenia Holidays Noosa. A chance to enjoy Noosa National Park and the famed main beach while on a budget, this caravan park also boasts ample facilities, including a pool, outdoor barbecue, camp kitchen, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi and even a kiosk.
Enjoy a holiday with a slice of history with a getaway to Noosa River Holiday Park. The heritage-listed space on Russell Street in vibrant Noosaville was built back in 1929 and remains a popular getaway thanks to its proximity to both Noosa River and Main Beach.
Boating enthusiasts can’t go past a trip to BIG4 Rainbow Beach Holiday Park, another of the best caravan parks on the Sunshine Coast. This family-friendly offering sits on a tidal inlet of the Great Sandy Strait and boasts its own boat ramp for easy access to the fishing adventures to the fishing adventures available right on its doorstep.

Spend the weekend fishing and waterskiing the calm waters of stunning Lake Somerset with a stay at its accompanying caravan park. Spread across 45 acres, the Lake Somerset Holiday Park hosts campsites and powered and unpowered caravan spots, alongside its cabins and glamping tents. Not to mention it’s within easy reach of the historic country towns of Kilcoy, Esk and Woodford.
Pack the dog and make your way to Mapleton Cabins and Caravan Park, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland resident which prides itself on its affordable prices. Somewhat of a hidden gem, the Mudjimba Beach Holiday Park sits wedged between the Mudjimba Surf Beach and the Maroochy River. Thanks to its ongoing popularity, the tranquil getaway will shortly welcome another 30 or so powered and unpowered sites.
Within arm’s reach of a major patrolled beach is the Maroochydore Beach Holiday Park and Campground. Scattered across 1.6 hectares are 117 powered caravan and campsites, as well as villas, for its guests. Visiting families will also love the easy access to both the beach and the Maroochy River, as well as the abundance of parks, bbq and picnic facilities nearby.
With direct access to one of the Sunshine Coast’s best beaches, the recently redeveloped Mooloolaba Beach Holiday Park is an easy way to spend a holiday by the seaside with the whole family. Ideal for kids, this caravan park boasting 60 large sites is also conveniently close to Sea Life Aquarium in the Mooloolaba Wharf precinct, and within easy stroll of the eateries and boutiques of Mooloolaba’s main drag.
The world is your oyster at Cotton Tree Holiday Park, which sits directly on the waterfront, within a slow stroll of both the Maroochy River and Maroochydore Beach.
