That’s why we love the family friendly holiday parks throughout Queensland. With great location options and built-in activities for the whole family, they’re a great way to step back from the rat race, reconnect with your loved ones and explore all the wonders that the Sunshine State has to offer.
To help you plan your next adventure, we’ve tracked down the best family friendly holiday parks in Queensland.
The Atherton Tablelands is a short 45-minute drive inland from Cairns, within a fertile plateau of the Great Dividing Range – the world’s third longest land-based mountain range.
Make your base the Big4 NRMA Atherton Tablelands Holiday Park: a tropical oasis you’ll never want to leave. Bordering a state reserve, it’s the perfect spot for families looking to connect with nature, with abundant natural attractions including lush rainforests and spectacular waterfalls right on your doorstep.
When you’re done exploring, excellent holiday park facilities are available, including a saltwater pool, barbecues, camp kitchen, free wifi, playground and laundry.
Choose between two and three-bedroom eco villas, cabins and cottages, or drive your caravan into one of the powered or unpowered sites. The park received an Eco Certification in 2011 as a result of their commitment to providing environmentally, socially and economically sustainable accommodation and facilities, so you can feel good about your choice.
Tip: The Atherton Tablelands is an excellent mountain biking spot, with trails for riders of all ages and skill levels. Grab a bike and head out – it’s the best way to explore this beautiful region.
