Situated on the southern end of Curtis Island, just 12 kilometres from mainland Gladstone, the South End Camping Ground offers 20 unpowered sites with ocean views!
Access to Curtis Island is by private vessel or via Curtis Ferry Services which operates five days per week and can transport passengers and vehicles.
A short distance from the camping ground is a corner store where visitors can purchase a variety of items, including drinks, ice, newspapers, toiletries and non-perishable food items.
Composting toilets are available at the camping ground; however, there are no chemical toilet waste disposal units. Wood fires are strictly prohibited in the grounds and on the beach, you will need to bring a gas or kerosene fuelled stove. Low noise generators are permitted between 7am and 7pm daily.
Dogs are permitted in the grounds - they must be on leash or tethered at all times and owners must clean up after their dog.
A maximum of three campsites can be booked per family with a maximum of six people per site.
Maximum stay permitted is 14 days - if extensions are required, please contact the Gladstone Visitor Information Centre prior to your checkout day.
