Long beaches backed by high sand dunes, tranquil waterways, wildflower heaths, freshwater lakes, woodlands and forests make Cooloola a popular holiday destination and a vital refuge for coastal wildlife.

A variety of camping area are available, ranging from riverside camping areas only accessible by canoe or on foot to large beach camping zones with facilities and secluded campsites nestled in the forest.

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Book your campsite and purchase your camping permit in advance. Bookings can be made on-line, over the counter or by phone.

Vehicle access permits are also required when traversing beaches and some inland tracks. Check the website for details on whether you will require a pre-booked vehicle access permit.
