Queensland's newest tourism experience is 65 million years old.
From 26 June, Talaroo Hot Springs will welcome visitors after months of construction, offering the hospitality of the Ewamian Traditional Owners at this unique North Queensland geological wonder. You can now make the new caravan park, campground and purpose-built amenities your base for experiencing exclusive guided tours of the spectacular landscape, sinking into the healing waters of the hot springs, or spotting wildlife on walks to the nearby Einasleigh River.
Located 360km west of Cairns between Mount Surprise and Georgetown on the Savannah Way in the outback of Tropical North Queensland, Talaroo Hot Springs is Australia’s only known tiered thermal hot spring and is a truly magical landscape full of rich culture and awe-inspiring nature.

Ewamian Elder and cultural advisor for Talaroo’s tours and experiences, Jimmy “JR” Richards, once worked as a stockman at Talaroo Station and went on to become the first Indigenous tour guide at the Undara Experience before developing the program at Talaroo, inspiring the team of new guides to share the significance of the site with visitors.
Experiences will include a Hot Springs Discovery Tour, self-guided walks, stargazing, a nightly Yarning Circle, and as the opportunity to book a private soaking pool fed by the springs. Talaroo hosts 16 powered and 14 unpowered sites set around a modern camp kitchen, new amenities block, reception, gift shop and small kiosk.
