You’ll find something for every skill level - including the Simple Stretch Hatha and a balancing blend of yin and yang with Flow’n’Deep. Just remember to BYO mat and towel.

In eclectic West End is where you’ll find the aerial classes of Bend and Fly. Brisbane’s self-described leading anti-gravity yoga studio, this inner-city den is devoted to the decompressing abilities of practicing in the air - classes will see you cocooned by a silk hammock as you learn to restore and repair the spine, and nervous system. But don’t fret - first timers are encouraged to take an aerial intro course to begin. Reassuringly for those who prefer to keep their yoga practice on the ground, there are a number of traditional floor classes also available.

Budhi Yoga, Milton

With 22 classes per week you’re sure to find something to your liking at Budhi Yoga, one of the busiest yoga studios in Brisbane. There is an impressive array of yoga classes to choose from at this Milton space - Slow Flow, Deep Stretch, and Classic Hatha included, many of which are heated to a warm 26-28 degrees. The traditionally focused meditation and yoga space resides in a former hangar that for the past 20 years has promised to give people the tools to find peace, health and happiness through its ‘authentic’ practices. It’s here that you’ll find a bundle of different daily offerings, alongside a number of well-regarded yoga and meditation courses, educational workshops, and even yoga-focused retreats.

Beer Yoga, Felons Brewing Co

A far less traditional take on yoga can be found at local beer haunt Felons Brewing Co at Howard Smith Wharves. It’s here that Beer Yoga takes place on the riverfront lawn neighbouring the brewery from 5.30pm on Monday evenings. Sip on a pint of locally crafted beer as you stretch your way through a Vinyasa Slow Flow in the sunshine, taught by local teacher Nina Lee of Sukhino.

Beach yoga with Lisa Iselin, North Stradbroke Island

Downward dog on the beachfront with Lisa Iselin’s sand-bound classes on North Stradbroke Island. Lisa is an accredited pilates and yoga instructor who hosts her classes among the sand of the idyllic Point Lookout on Monday evenings, showcasing Okido Yoga, a therapeutic style originating in Japan that merges traditional Indian Hatha with conscious core activation and Buddhist philosophies.
