Binna Burra

Take a drive 90 minutes from Brisbane or 75 minutes from Gold Coast airport, up winding roads through Beechmont to Binna Burra and you'll find yourself immersed in a magical rainforest wilderness 800m above sea level, with impressive views across cascading valleys out to the coast.

Set in Lamington National Park within the Scenic Rim, and a part of the world-heritage listed Gondwana Rainforest area of South East Queensland, a visit to this pristine sub-tropical rainforest is a life-changing, 'bucket-list' experience.

With over 160km of trails to explore, here you'll feel a lifetime away after hiking through the canopy of green to epic views and thundering waterfalls shrouded in mist and crisp mountain air.

As you explore the area, pay homage to the earliest inhabitants—the Yugambeh people. They know this area as Woonoongoora and named Binna Burra "where the beech tree grows", in honour of the thousand year old Antarctic Beech trees that it is home to.
