Holiday in the tropics with this Mission Beach accommodation guide

Guide

By Sarah Bristow

Is that the tropics calling? There are few places better to unwind than the relaxed community enclave of Mission Beach in the Cairns & Great Barrier Reef region. The hidden gem consists of a string of quiet villages on a stretch of 14 kilometres of coastline dubbed Bingil Bay, Mission Beach, Wongaling Beach, and South Mission Beach.

It entices people for two key reasons - its chill nature, and its population of elusive cassowaries (this is the Cassowary Coast after all). This Mission Beach accommodation guide will help you on your next holiday this way

Mission Beach hotels and resorts

Castaway Resort and Spa

Indulge in a stay at the suavely-styled Castaway Resort and Spa, a family-friendly cluster of self-contained units and rainforest rooms right on the white sands of Mission Beach. Travelling with a group? Bag the private beachside villa on site.

Mission Beach Resort

Those with small children in tow may prefer Mission Beach Resort right in the heart of Wongaling Beach. Spread across 12 acres, this place boasts four swimming pools on site promising hours of entertainment, with 68 self-contained guest rooms in total.

Wongalinga Beach Resort

This Mission Beach accommodation option may be small but it isn’t lacking in much. The nine self-contained resort apartments are armed with kitchens, dining, and lounge areas, as well as outdoor terraces for when entertaining strikes. Plus the whole place can be privately booked for functions.

Eco Village Mission Beach

The pet-friendly park stretches across six acres, with plenty of camping and caravan sites, and a handful of furnished units.

Mission Beach Hideaway Holiday Village

Smack bang in the centre of Mission Beach is this rather stylish take on a caravan park, tucked among manicured gardens and tropical foliage. Creature comforts are ample, with fully serviced sites each boasting a TV connection.

Tropical Hibiscus Caravan Park

An unrivalled amount of amenities will greet you at this petite-sized caravan park. Think a gym, a wood-fired pizza oven, large entertainment deck, pool and more on the sands of Wongaling Beach.
