MECC Precinct Fountain, Mackay

Mackay's iconic thistle fountain is located in front of the council building on Gordon Street in Mackay. The fountain water regularly changes colour depending on the occasion, as an example the water may be turned pink in support of breast cancer awareness.

Ample car parking is available adjacent to Artspace and in the streets surrounding the Civic Precinct. The cafe at Artspace provides an opportunity for refreshment while viewing the fountain.

Public amenities are within 200 metres in Wellington Street near council’s Administration Building carpark.

There are several areas of grass surrounding the fountain, perfect for weekend picnic.
