5 glamping and bell tent companies that go wherever you are

List

Why limit yourself to bricks and mortar when canvas accommodation can be stumped up wherever you please? And why rough it when you can glamp it in a gorgeous bell tent?

Mobile camping options are popping up all across Queensland from the Tropical North to the Gold Coast. Find yourself a glamping company that will deliver creature comforts to your nature-based hideout without you having to lift a finger.

Glamping Days Hire

Glamping Days Hire is a Gold Coast-based company that operates across South East Queensland. Owner Fiona Alexander started with one tent in 2014 but success has seen her inventory grow to 15.

The company’s bell tents are comfortably tall so you won’t feel like the Hunchback of Notre Dame every time you enter your abode. The snooze-worthy airbeds are also fitted with mattress toppers. For an extra dose of luxury, you can opt for a double-height deluxe bed.

Barbecues are available to rent and Glamping Days Hire also collaborates with food providers so you can have everything you need, delivered on a plate.

Dream spots to pitch up: Numinbah Valley, South Stradbroke Island, or even your own backyard!

Breezy Belle Adventures

Breezy Belle generally operates within an hour’s drive of Cairns but can set up anywhere in Tropical North Queensland with a per-kilometre charge. Simply pick your spot and front up with a toothbrush (and, you know, maybe some spare clothes and stuff). All the hard work is done for you.

The roomy bell tents are carpeted and fit two queen-sized beds. They also come equipped with a wine fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Then, should you fancy, you can opt for a $20 welcome pack with a range of edible goodies. You can choose whether you want your camp powered. If not, keep your daily sustenance cool with an esky and complimentary bag of ice.

Owner Niki Maguire also happens to be a scuba diving instructor, so why not double your camp with a dive?

Dream spots to pitch up: Ellis Beach, Palm Cove or Cape Tribulation.

Pitch Luxury Camping

Pitch Luxury Camping is run by husband and wife team Tim and Lisa Mitchell, who are committed to helping you find the perfect patch of paradise between the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast (not a bad place to be if you ask us).

But while nature is on your doorstep, the comforts of a hotel room await inside. Upon stepping into your luxury bell tent you’ll find furnishings like a reading chair, a rug, solar-powered lamps and bedside tables. Nightfall is welcomed with a sprinkling of fairy lights.

When munch time hits, Pitch Luxury can cover all your meals by delivering gourmet hampers to your site, including salads and tender marinated beef to sizzle on the barbie.

The tents comfortably fit a queen or four single beds, and linen and towels are provided. If you have a special event, you can opt for an additional dining tent plus other onsite services such as mobile spa treatments.

Dream spots to pitch up: Noosa River, Sunshine Coast Hinterland or Cotton Tree.

Rainbow Beach Ultimate Camping

These guys are all about providing eco-friendly accommodation. They will set up and pack up your mobile hotel without leaving a trace. You don’t have to sacrifice luxury though, given your own shower and loo is part of the service.

Meal packages are available on request, including seafood platters (hell yeah).  The staff can also hook you in with other service providers so you can keep yourself busy with horse riding, skydiving and sea kayaking for example.

Dream spots to pitch up: The Rainbow Beach Ultimate Camping crew set up at Inskip Peninsula on the coastal point roughly between Gympie and Maryborough, as well as Double Island Point and Fraser Island

Flash Camp

Just like a flash dance, Flash Camp can spring a bell tent party up anywhere. As one of the pioneers of the mobile glamping movement, this crowd dots their I’s and crosses their T’s to ensure an unforgettable camping experience.

Food is part of the package with an onsite café, along with massage therapists and a day spa. Yep, this is camping with all the glam. If you’re feeling energetic, the Flash Campers can coordinate activities like fishing and stand-up paddle boarding.

While tents are without electricity (unless provided by the campgrounds), solar panels keep the lights on and your phone charged.

Dream spots to pitch up: Flash Camp operate more like a pop-up hotel of around 30-50 bell tents rather than a come-to-you service (unless you’ve got a big event you want to ring them in for). You’ll need to hunt them down by keeping an eye on their website and social media platforms to see when and where they’re pitching in Queensland.
