A delightful under-cover barbeque area is where you can enjoy the company of other guests in the evenings and in the mornings, a yummy continental breakfast is available complimentary.

The Horn Island Wharf and Ferry to Thursday Island is directly in front and an ideal spot for fishing or meeting the locals. A small supermarket and cafe are next door, and the local Hotel is just a stroll to the end of the street.

Horn Island is the gateway to the Torres Straits and upon arrival our courtesy shuttle will collect you for the short drive back to town. Be sure to ask Brian to give you a free town tour.

The Dugongs' Rest is a one hour and forty-five minute flight from Cairns, with two to three flights per day, so access to 300 plus beautiful islands is just a click away.
