If you’re reading this, we’re willing to guess you’re done with ‘the apps’, dating is a thing of the past, you’ve managed to woo the love of your life, and now it’s time to get married – congrats!

We’re also willing to bet you’re unfortunately starting to realise that actually getting married is a little easier said than done. There’re outfit fittings, catering decisions to be made, invitations to be sent, and the list really goes on.

Luckily, Queensland has you covered when it comes to finding the perfect LGBTQIA+ friendly wedding venue.

With lists longer than the Great Barrier Reef for most of your wedding decisions, we thought we’d keep this one simple, including just five of our top LGBTQIA+ friendly wedding venue suggestions in and around Brisbane.

1.    The Warehouse, Fortitude Valley

The Warehouse – built in 1905 – has to be one of Brisbane’s best function and events venues, sitting atop of this list largely due to its incredibly convenient central Brisbane location.

Further to this, the Warehouse has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment, meaning that although this building has lived an impressive 115+ year life, it certainly doesn’t look it. Once inside, you’ll be left in awe as you take in the building’s historic, yet elegant, charm. As you make your way through the venue, its enormity is also certain to amaze. The Warehouse features a speakeasy-style basement, a mezzanine, a grand loft-style space, a lounge area, and an open-air rooftop terrace. With a floorplan like that, The Warehouse offers an unrivalled option for your special day.

Not only is the venue itself beyond belief, so is the events team. Meeting them for the first time is like a warm hug. They’re experienced, they’re passionate, and they’re professional. But most of all, they’re flexible, and at your service to co-create a memorable experience for you.

2. Boulevard Gardens, Indooroopilly

Boulevard Gardens in Indooroopilly is dedicated to providing you with the very best location for you and your love to recite your vows on that special day. Here, stress levels are lowered drastically, as you can have your wedding ceremony and reception all in the same location. For even the pickiest spouse-to-be, Boulevard Gardens is an amazing choice, as they offer three charmingly curated reception spaces, so there’s no need to compromise. And, on your special day, if the weather’s behaving more like a tired child than a beaming flower girl, there’s no need to worry - Boulevard Gardens plans for that too, with wet weather ceremony spaces ready instantly.

The team goes above and beyond to exceed your expectations. You can choose from preselected wedding packages, or tailor them to suit your own personal style. They will (quite literally) hold your hand through the entire process, in order to make you feel as comfortable as possible in the lead up and during your special day.

3. Cedar Creek Estate Winery, Tamborine Mountain

A stone’s throw south of Brisbane – in the heart of Tamborine Mountain – is where you’ll find Cedar Creek Estate Winery. This venue warmly and openly welcomes all LGBTQIA+ couples, ensuring that you’ll feel safe and welcome during the entire planning process. Cedar Creek Estate Winery can cater for any number of guests, big or small, and they can do so within your budget.

For those of you who enjoy some choice, but get overwhelmed by too many options, Cedar Creek Estate Winery offers two sensational backdrops. Their first is in a beautiful, non-denominational, sandstone chapel which overlooks an idyllic lake. This backdrop, they assert, is perfect for the couple looking for a more traditional ceremony. Alternatively, their Garden Arbour is for the couple wanting a unique outdoor ceremony. Whichever you choose, you’ll be overcome with emotion by simply being surrounded by the ever-soothing Tamborine Mountain ambiance.
